Alison Purkiss
Alison is a phlebotomist of more years standing than she cares to admit – 20 and counting.
She has worked in doctors' surgeries, hospitals and private healthcare facilities and has taken blood for the BBC.
Alison is a passionate phlebotomist and has channelled that passion into building the leading phlebotomy training company in the UK, Phlebotomy Training Services which is also based in Evolution Business Centre in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
Alison believes that a blood test should not hurt and seeks to minimise patient discomfort.
Her mantra is that phlebotomy is: “an easy thing to do – but a difficult thing to do well”
And she strives to do it perfectly every time.
